Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Chapel Bell is a prayer reminder and scripture memorization app. This policy explains what the app does with information about you. The short version: everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone. The only thing that leaves it is the record of your subscription, so the app can tell whether it is active.
What we collect
Chapel Bell has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not sell any information, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts or location.
The one exception is your subscription record, described under Purchases below.
What stays on your device
To work, the app keeps the following on your iPhone only:
- the prayer and memorization times you set;
- a record of the sessions you have done, and how long they took;
- the verses you are learning, the words you have hidden, and any verse you type in yourself;
- your settings, such as your preferred Bible translation.
This information is stored in the app's private storage and shared only with the Chapel Bell widget on the same device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it; so does Settings → Reset everything inside the app.
Notifications and the lock screen
Reminders and lock-screen cards are scheduled on your iPhone by iOS. We do not run a server and cannot send you anything.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. When you open the app or buy, restore or renew a subscription, RevenueCat receives your purchase history for Chapel Bell (which plan, when it started and when it renews or ended), a random identifier the app creates for this purpose, and technical details such as the app version, your device's language and region, and the IP address the request comes from. The identifier is not linked to your name, email or Apple Account, and none of this is used for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat processes it on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
Scripture text
The World English Bible and the King James Version are in the public domain in the United States and are bundled inside the app. Reading them sends nothing anywhere.
Children
Chapel Bell is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
